Child Nutrition Act

MomsRising.org recently sent out an email that S. 3307, Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 passed Congress last week.  This comprehensive, historic legislation will help improve the nutritional quality of school lunches, get junk food out of the school vending machines, and support strong nutrition and physical activity policies and practices in schools and child care settings.  The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (also known as the Child Nutrition Act) now goes to President Obama's desk and , according to the New York Times, he intends to sign it.

It is time that the health and quality of education for every child is improved.  This is just the beginning of trying to have health and education reform in this country. My desire is that every citizen get the best health care and every child receives the "Best Education Possible".

Hello,

Really this post is very informative, without a proper diet children can lack proper brain development and may suffer from malnutrition. It is important for food programs such as these in schools because some students may receive all their meals from school.Thanks...
